How can EFT help you with anger and weight issues?

Blocked energy channels in the body often show up as negative emotions- in this case anger. Long-term or unresolved anger may lead you to soothe yourself with food and result in unwanted weight. EFT helps restore your flow of energy and release your excess anger or other troubling emotions.

These two audio sessions are designed to help you release the resistance of unnecessary self-directed anger.

Begin by assessing how you feel about this statement.

On a scale of 0-10 with 0 being no feeling at all and 10 being the worst this feeling has ever been, where do find yourself now?
Please jot the number down now. _____


Tap Map



Round 1

Begin now by tapping the Karate Chop point on the side of your hand continuously and say the following statements out loud. Be sure to fill in the blanks with what ever comes to mind.

“Even though I’m angry because I feel so trapped in my body and I can’t escape my weight, but I still deeply and completely accept myself anyway.”

“Even though I feel so stuck and trapped by my weight, and I can’t get away from it, I deeply and completely accept myself anyway.”

“Even though it’s just too hard to get this weight off and I feel so trapped and stuck in my body, but I still deeply and completely love and accept myself anyway.”

Eyebrow: trapped in my body
Side of Eye: I can’t escape
Under Eye: stuck in my body
Under Nose: can’t do anything about it
Chin: trapped in my body
Collarbone: trapped in my life
Under Arm: I'll be stuck here forever
Top of Head: I’ll never get out

Choices

(Eyebrow: I choose to release my anger now
Side of Eye: I choose to give up my resentment of my body
Under Eye: I choose free myself from my own judgments
Under Nose: I choose to be at peace with my body
Chin: I choose to feel contented with my body and my weight
Collarbone: I choose to free myself from my anger
Under Arm: I choose give myself permission to accept myself as I am
Top of Head: I choose to release my self-resentments

* Take a deep breath
* Sip some water
*Write down your intensity #__________

Notice any changes in your perception or awareness of the problem. Does it seem more intense? More distant? Stronger or weaker? More important or less important? Do you sense relief or a releasing of something?

Notice changes in your body. Does any part of your body hurt or feel better than it did before this round of tapping? Do you feel more relaxed? Are there any new sensations like tingling? A gentle calmness? Numbness? Warmth? Nausea or a calming in the stomach? Vision changes? Changes in your breathing? A lighter or heavier feeling?

If your changes are positive and your intensity has dropped to 0 or 1, it’s likely that you have resolved this issue because the blocked energy has been released.

If you are not at a 0 or 1, it means that you still have some intensity around this issue or some aspect of it, and more EFT rounds will be needed to clear it from your energy channels. In this case, move on to Round 2.

Round 2

Acceptance is key in releasing anger. It is only by giving up your resistance to loving yourself and beginning to accept every part of yourself that the healing truly begins. EFT helps facilitate self-acceptance in a gentle and natural way.

Choices

Eyebrow: I choose to decide how I will live my life
Side of Eye: I choose to live my life no matter what my weight is
Under Eye: I choose free myself from this bondage
Under Nose: I choose to live the way I want
Chin: I choose to shift my perceptions now about my weight now
Collarbone: I choose to release my self–denial now
Under Arm: I choose to free myself and live
Top of Head: I choose to feel free and really live

* Take a deep breath
* Sip some water
*Write down your intensity #__________

Notice any changes in your perception or awareness of the problem and jot these down. Did any memories show up? Did any pictures form in your mind as you were tapping?

Now, use what you wrote down to decide what to tap on next. Create a new “Even though…” set up statement based on your thoughts and any changes you experienced, then continue tapping in the same sequence as the last two rounds.

Be aware of changes in the issue itself. For example, if you originally rated your anger about being trapped in your body at a 10, and now you’re at about a 3 intensity, look for a shift into a new aspect of the problem.

The beauty of EFT is that new aspects show up only when you are ready to address them. You may have moved from anger in Round 1 to a feeling of frustration and stagnation in Round 2.
But now you may be sensing a theme of loss in your life. You can now use EFT to explore your feelings of loss. Your next set up statement could go something like this:

"Even though I’m not living my life to the fullest because I’m trying to avoid____________, but I still deeply and completely love and accept myself anyway."

OR

“Even though I’ve been using my weight as an excuse to avoid __________, but I still deeply and completely love and accept myself anyway."

Be very expressive in your next EFT rounds and even let your set up statements be long and rambling. Put as much feeling into your words as possible because this is what changes your energy patterns.

Trust your instincts and follow your intuition. Like most anything, you will get better and better at this the more you do it.
