* The comfort/avoid strategy of choice is emotional eating (eating when you're not hungry and/or eating past full)
* Emotional eating leads to new problems (‘I hate the way I look/feel’, clothes don’t fit-again?)
* New problems are stacked on top of the original problem
The results? Eroded self esteem, painful self-talk, feeling powerless, hopeless, helpless, and finally, numbness.
